Morgan Rogers posts cryptic response to Jacob Ramsey’s message
Aston Villa’s pre-season is underway as uncertainty lingers of the future of star players like Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers.
Unai Emery‘s side have a busy schedule ahead with eight pre-season friendlies in the pipeline before they kick off their Premier League campaign on 16 August, as well as the Europa League to contend with.
Goal difference saw Villa miss out on back-to-back Champions League campaigns after a sixth-placed finish in the Premier League, leaving Emery’s side in a precarious PSR position ahead of the new season.
Numerous possible transfers have been lined up to help Villa balance the books, and homegrown players like Ramsey and Rogers have attracted plenty of attention from clubs in a much healthier PSR position.

Ramsey sends new Aston Villa message as Rogers reacts
As a Villa academy product with enormous potential, Ramsey represents the most profitable of potential exits from Villa Park this summer and Tottenham are the current front-runners to sign him this summer.
His future could yet lie away from Villa and Mick Brown told Football Insider on 3 July that Ramsey is keen on a move to Tottenham this summer, but the attacking midfielder isn’t forcing his way out.
Ramsey returned to pre-season training at Bodymoor Heath on 7 July alongside his Villa team-mates and posted an update on Instagram, which he titled with the caption of: “Back on site”.
A number of Villa players liked Ramsey’s post and Rogers also left a message in the comments of a ‘watch’ emoji, potentially sparking worries for fans that the pair are on ‘borrowed time’ with the Villans.
Aston Villa braced for Rogers and Ramsey exits
Football Insider Verdict
Rogers’ cryptic response to Ramsey’s post could feasibly be to suggest that in time, he too will join up with the Villa squad after an extended period of time off following two England appearances last month.
However, Rogers has been just as heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park and could command a fee in the region of £100million this summer, a figure which would certainly aid the Lions’ PSR position.
A potential fire-sale totalling £200m could yet be on the cards for Villa this summer, and with Tottenham increasingly keen on Ramsey, it remains to be seen how Emery handles the prospect of losing both of his young guns.
