Morgan Rogers responds to Phil Foden’s message after fans destroy him
Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers responded to Phil Foden’s latest post, as the Man City star continues to face intense scrutiny after his recent performances
England cruised to a 3-0 win over Latvia on 24 March, with goals from Reece James, Harry Kane, and Eberechi Eze sealing the result.
However, Foden came under fire from England fans following a disappointing performance against Albania, which led to him being dropped from the starting line-up for the Latvia fixture.
He came on as a substitute, but England supporters slammed Foden after his cameo, with many questioning why players like Morgan Gibbs-White were overlooked instead.
Thomas Tuchel singled out both Foden and Marcus Rashford for their lack of impact in the first game. The German manager has since been urged to make ruthless selection decisions if key players continue to underperform.
Despite the criticism, the Man City forward turned to social media and shared a message with fans after the Latvia win.
Man City raise questions over Phil Foden’s dip in form
Foden shared a series of photos from his 23-minute cameo against Latvia on Instagram, captioned with three lion emojis.
The post saw plenty of interaction from fellow players, with Rogers leaving a heart emoji and Rico Lewis adding a crown emoji in the comments.
Despite his undeniable talent, the 24-year-old has struggled for consistency this season. Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Foden appears to be feeling the weight of expectation at Man City.
This comes after Brown revealed that Man City were concerned about Foden’s form back in November, as by that point, he failed to score a single Premier League goal.
However, while under scrutiny, he has still been a regular presence in the side, featuring 38 times across all competitions, netting ten goals in 2,605 minutes of play.

Morgan Rogers proving a strong alternative for Phil Foden in England’s attack
While Foden was left out of the starting XI against Latvia, Tuchel instead turned to Rogers, who seized his opportunity in his first England start.
Rogers has been in superb form for Aston Villa this season, contributing 12 goals and seven assists as Villa push for European qualification and look to challenge for silverware.as they face Preston in the quarter-finals on 30 March.
His ability to drive forward and add dynamism to the attack could prove invaluable to Tuchel, who may have already found a strong alternative to Foden in the England setup.
