Morgan Rogers sends Cole Palmer warning in new five-word message
Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers has taken to social media to send a message to friend Cole Palmer after his team’s 3-1 win over Brentford on Wednesday (December 4).
The 22-year-old’s opener against Brentford was reminiscent of Palmer’s goal in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Villa, taking a touch before curling it beyond the goalkeeper from the edge of the box.
Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash gave Unai Emery’s side a 3-0 lead just after the half-hour mark before Mikkel Damsgaard’s 54th-minute strike cut their lead to two.
Villa were able to hold on, however, earning their first win in eight games across all competitions, their worst run since Emery took over in November 2022.
The win sees Villa move back into the European spots, sitting in seventh with 22 points from their opening 14 Premier League games.

Rogers and Palmer came through Man City’s famed academy together before the Villa star departed in July 2023, joining Middlesbrough in his pursuit of first-team football.
The Villa man is enjoying a breakout season, starring for his club and making his England debut in their 3-0 UEFA Nations League victory over Greece earlier in the season.
Rogers has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, all of which have been from the first whistle, scoring four goals and providing three assists in the process.
Delighted with his goal and the overall team performance, the England international took to Instagram to celebrate, telling Palmer, “Don’t poke the bear” before adding “wait”.

Villa are back in action on Saturday (December 7) as they seek to compound the misery upon Russel Martin’s bottom-placed Southampton side.
Emery’s side have six games over the next three weeks, including fixtures against RB Leipzig, Man City, and Newcastle.
