Morgan Rogers sends message to Jacob Ramsey after Aston Villa win

Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers took to social media to send a message to teammate Jacob Ramsey after picking up an injury in their 1-0 win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday (October 2).

With an impressive five successful dribbles and a 79 per cent pass accuracy rate, Rogers, 22, played a pivotal role in Villa’s surprise win over Bayern Munich.

Unfortunately for Ramsey, 23, it wasn’t quite as exciting, with the young winger having to be substituted just 27 minutes into his Champions League debut.

Super-sub Jhon Duran was once again on hand to score a last-gasp screamer, lobbing veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer from nearly 40 yards out to give Villa fans a night they will never forget.

It’s two wins from two for Unai Emery’s side in their first Champions League campaign since 1982-83, placing them in sixth in the Champions League’s new league phase.

The two players have a combined four goal involvements in 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Aston Villa.

Villa have carried their fine form from last season into this one, sitting in fifth place in the Premier League, they are once again in the conversation for Champions League qualification.

Morale is clearly high at the club, and Rogers took the time to post an image of him and Ramsey on Instagram as a show of support.

Emery’s lads will be hoping to carry the confidence gained from this huge European win into the Premier League as they prepare to face a struggling Man United side on Sunday (October 6).

Their only defeat this season came at the hands of title challengers Arsenal, they have gone onto win six of the seven games since.
