Morgan Rogers sends two-word message to Aston Villa teammate as exit whispers intensify
Morgan Rogers had a message for an Aston Villa teammate as the side prepare to face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
Aston Villa are gearing up for a crucial clash against Crystal Palace on 26 April which is a golden opportunity for silverware and a route into European football.
Rogers has been in brilliant form this season, enjoying a breakout campaign in which he’s tallied 27 goal contributions across all competitions.
The 22-year-old’s versatility and sharpness in the final third have been instrumental to Villa’s progress, and naturally, it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
According to former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown, speaking to Football Insider, Manchester City are now monitoring Rogers in a potential summer move.
Having initially left City’s academy for Middlesbrough in search of more regular first-team football, the forward may now be on the radar for a return to the Etihad following his impressive rise.
Despite mounting speculation, Rogers appears to be keeping his focus on the pitch in recent social media post directed at a teammate hinted at the tight-knit spirit within the Villa camp.

Morgan Rogers sends light-hearted message to John McGinn amid FA Cup pursuit
Rogers shared a playful message to John McGinn via his Instagram story during training, jokingly calling him “my son”.

Despite the ongoing speculation over a possible move away, the camaraderie in the dressing room appears to be thriving as Villa prepare for a vital FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace.
Back in October, Mick Brown told Football Insider that Rogers left Manchester City due to concerns over his attitude, an issue which also reportedly deterred other clubs from making a move when he was at Middlesbrough.
However, his performances on the pitch have silenced any doubts. Rogers has racked up 14 goals this season, eight of those in the Premier League, and contributed 13 assists in over 4,000 minutes of action.
While the arrivals of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio have at times rotated his involvement, Rogers has continued to impress whenever called upon.

Unai Emery targets FA Cup and top-five finish despite fan pressure
Unai Emery has come under pressure this season for some of his tactical decisions, particularly in matches where results have slipped away.
Still, Villa have enjoyed a strong run of form, winning eight of their last ten matches across all competitions. Though the two defeats in that run proved costly, there’s a growing belief that if Emery can deliver silverware and secure Champions League qualification, those critics will quickly quieten.
With the club fighting on multiple fronts, the final weeks of the season could be decisive in shaping both Villa’s campaign for this and next season.
