Morgan Rogers sends two-word message to Curtis Jones after explosive clash

Morgan Rogers took to social media to send a message to Curtis Jones after the explosive 2-2 Premier League draw between Liverpool and Aston Villa on Wednesday (February 19).

Both Rogers, 22, and Jones, 24, played the full 90 minutes as the spoils were shared between the two sides at Villa Park.

Mohamed Salah continued his remarkable form, opening the scoring in the 29th minute with his 29 goal of the season thanks to a defensive miscommunication between Axel Disasi and Andres Garcia.

Football Insider revealed (February 9) that despite his remarkable form, Liverpool are no closer to renewing Salah’s contract, which runs out at the end of the season.

Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans bagged the equaliser in the 38th minute before Ollie Watkins gave the home side the lead just before the break.

Trent Alexander-Arnold restored parity just after the hour-mark, sending Liverpool eight points clear at the top of the table before Arsenal face West Ham on Saturday (February 22).

Morgan Rogers and Curtis Jones were at loggerheads in thriller

The forward has been key for Villa so far this season, starting all 35 of his games across all competitions, scoring 11 goals, and providing six assists in his 2959 minutes of action.

Jones is also in the form of his life under Arne Slot, starting 19 of his 31 games across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing six assists in his 1684 minutes on the field.

Jones and Rogers made their England debuts together in the 3-0 Uefa Nations League win over Greece earlier in the season.

Rogers took to Instagram to share an image of Jones’ Liverpool shirt after the 2-2 draw, simply saying: “My brother.”

Emery’s side remain in contention for European football once the season ends despite failing to win in their last five Premier League games, sitting in ninth with 39 points from their 26 games.

Villa will face fellow strugglers Chelsea in the late kick-off on Saturday (February 22) with both in desperate need of a win.
