Morgan Rogers’ social media activity fuels exit whispers as Aston Villa fears mount
Morgan Rogers appears increasingly likely to leave Aston Villa this summer as several interested clubs circle.
The 23-year-old had a brilliant season that ended in the perfect way when he scored in a 3-0 win over Freiburg in the Europa League final last month.
Villa’s talisman will now head to the World Cup with England, but rumours concerning his future are expected to ramp up upon his return.
Rogers signed a new contract in November, tying him down to 2031 and placing decision-makers in an optimal position if it comes to negotiations.
Villa transfer chiefs will be well aware that the player’s will is key, however, and it is unclear so far what the midfielder is hoping for this summer.

Former chief executive at Villa Park, Keith Wyness, exclusively told Football Insider in April that Villa could be tempted into selling Rogers this summer if they receive a sizable bid.
The Villans are expected to demand a fee in the region of £80million, with Anthony Gordon having sealed his move to Barcelona for £69m last week.

The pair will join up with England this summer, with Rogers potentially set to increase his price further with a strong World Cup showing.
The huge interest already mounting in him is for a reason, however. The 23-year-old has produced another brilliant season, scoring 14 goals across all competitions and providing 11 assists.
He has arguably become Villa’s star man, seemingly possessing the tools to do anything he wants to on a football pitch.
Arsenal have been strongly linked of late, with the Premier League champions expected to have another big summer as they look to retain their title.
While Rogers has not spoken out about any links to the Gunners, his social media activity may be concerning for Villa fans.
Arsenal’s trophy parade was on Sunday, with Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke all posting their pictures from the day on Instagram. Rogers liked all three posts.
An England teammate simply supporting his friends or something more? It remains to be seen.
Where would Rogers fit for Arsenal?
Rogers has largely rotated between the attacking-midfielder role and the left of the attack for Villa this season.
He would likely play on the left for Arsenal if they managed to sign him, with Mikel Arteta looking for a more consistent option than Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on that flank.

It would also not be out of the realm of possibility that the Spaniard takes advantage of another role Rogers has loosely played and deploys him up front.
The 23-year-old has the physicality and the ability to finish, with the position certainly something to think about going forward.
