Morgan Rogers to Liverpool – ‘this would be the deal of the summer’
Liverpool are eyeing a number of attacking options to strengthen Arne Slot’s squad ahead of a busy summer transfer window.
Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers has emerged as one of their leading candidates thanks to his ability to play in midfield and across the forward line.
This comes after ex-Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider Liverpool are also tracking Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, who is of a similar profile.
Now, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Football Insider Liverpool would be pulling off “the deal of the summer” if they could land Rogers.
However, the 22-year-old is under contract at Villa Park until 2030 and a move to Anfield has been labelled “impossible” ahead of the transfer window.

Liverpool and Man City eye Morgan Rogers swoop
The England international’s future from Villa has been subject to speculation in recent weeks after Brown told Football Insider Man City have been watching Rogers.
Scouts have been keeping an eye on his progress since his departure from the Etihad in 2023, but Villa are determined to keep hold of their star man.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Unai Emery is planning to build his squad around Rogers and would demand “crazy money” for his exit.
“He’s got a 97 per cent start ratio in the Premier League,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s just 22 years old and he’s got a contract until 2030.
“That is a player you want to build the team around, and Villa know that, that’s why this deal is going to be nearly impossible to do.
“Liverpool would need to offer crazy money for Villa to consider selling him.
“If anyone could pull it off, it’s Liverpool, but even they have limits.
“This would be the deal of the simmer if it happens, but I don’t see it, it’s too soon for him and he would be too expensive.”

Arne Slot eyes Mohammed Kudus swoop after £70m twist
Alongside their interest in the likes of Rogers and Eze, Liverpool are eyeing a number of ball-carrying forwards to improve their current crop of players.
Football Insider revealed on 25 April that Liverpool want West Ham star Mohammed Kudus and could reach an agreement for below his release clause value.
The 24-year-old has an £80million release clause for domestic clubs this summer, but £70million is likely to be enough to get a deal over the line.
This comes after former Hammers scout Brown told Football Insider West Ham could accept cut-price offers for Kudus this summer.
