Morgan Whittaker is ‘high on Rangers list’ as club backed to complete deal – expert
Alan Hutton has insisted Rangers will try to sign Morgan Whittaker in the summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said the the Light Blues won’t give up on a deal for Whittaker just because it didn’t happen in the January window.
On 17 February, sources told this site that Michael Beale’s side remain in pursuit of the 22-year-old despite having three bids knocked back in the winter window.
But the Glasgow giants remain in contact with the winger’s agent as they plot a fresh move in the summer.
Whittaker’s contract at Swansea City runs until 2025 but the Gers are hopeful of getting a deal over the line at the end of the season.
Hutton is convinced the Ibrox club will attempt to re-sign Whittaker in the summer.
“Just because it did not happen in January does not mean that they won’t go back in,” he told Football Insider.
“I think they will. It is obviously a player that Michael Beale likes.

“He gives you a different sort of option from the right, coming in on the left. I think they have missed that area of the pitch since [Joe] Aribo left even though the likes of [Fashion] Sakala have stepped up.
“I think they will revisit it if they can make it happen in the summer. It did not quite work in January but I think it is someone that will still be high up on Michael Beale’s list.“
In other news, according to sources, Rangers are not now expected to sign James Sands as other targets a priority.
