Moshiri ‘isn’t bothered’ about Everton fans after ‘pathetic’ move – pundit

Someone at Everton needs to “have a word” with Farhad Moshiri after a “pathetic” attempt to quell anger from Toffees fans.

That’s according to former Leeds stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Everton owner’s recent actions.

Moshiri sent a message of support for Benitez to talkSPORT presenter Jim White on Thursday (2 December) after the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool.

The Everton owner insisted the club’s “underperformance” is “largely down to the injuries”.

Kenny insists there is a right way to communicate with the fans with Moshiri’s effort a poor example.

“There are ways to do this, isn’t there?” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You have club statements, there are interviews. You don’t send a text to a talk show.

“I can’t imagine that has gone down well with the fans. It’s a bit pathetic if you ask me.

“There must be someone at Everton who can have a word with Moshiri because this isn’t the right way to do things.

“It’s arguably the last thing Everton needed. He didn’t even call in did he?

“Just a text, that speaks volumes for me. It’s a little bit ‘I’m not bothered about what the fans think’, isn’t it?”

Moshiri’s statement comes after Football Insider revealed (1 December) that Benitez wants to take control of recruitment going into the winter window.

This site also revealed (3 December) that director of football Marcel Brands is now increasingly likely to lose his job after a power struggle behind the scenes at Everton.
