Mourinho is fuming that Man United player is too cosy with Tottenham boss Pochettino - report
By Richard Parks
Jose Mourinho is unhappy that Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is too close to Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to a report.
The Sun claim that Mourinho is “irritated” by the “cosy relationship” between Shaw and the man who brought him through the ranks at Southampton and helped him develop into a Premier League star.
It is said that the United manager is exasperated by the left-back’s progress and intends to sell him this summer following another thaw in their relationship.
Intriguingly, the Sun report Mourinho would like to sell Shaw to Tottenham in part-exchange for Danny Rose, who has been in and out of the side since recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him for nine months.
Shaw has made just 14 appearances for United this season and has struggled to be a fixture in the team since his £30million transfer from Southampton in the summer of 2014.

Football Insider comment:
Mourinho has not been shy of telling Shaw where he is going wrong, using the media to point out the deficiencies in the player’s fitness, attitude and ability to deliver the goods at an elite club. It appeared there had been a thaw in the freezing-out of Shaw from the United ranks following his recent short spell as the first choice left-back, but the 22-year-old has started on the bench in five of the last six league matches and is now back to treading water at United. A summer exit would appear to be the best solution for all parties, and the player will be relatively cheap as his recently-activated one year contract extension ends in the summer of 2019. What price a return to Pochettino, the manager who got the most out of him when he was a teenager with the world seemingly at his feet?
