'A special year' - Mousa Dembele discusses Tottenham PL title chances
By Danny Wright
Mousa Dembele has suggested that Tottenham have what it takes to win their first Premier League title this season.
Spurs have finished third and second in the last two campaigns, leading many to believe that this season will see them take another step forward and finish top of the pile.
Mauricio Pochettino has overseen a massive improvement at Tottenham and has relied on the youthfulness of players like Dele Alli and Harry Kane, but one of the more underrated members of his squad is Dembele, who is arguably one of the key driving forces in the Spurs midfield.
The 30-year-old midfielder believes that his side are now on the verge of a “special year” despite them not making a single signing in the summer transfer window so far.
“We think a different kind of way,” said Dembele about the suggestion that Spurs are naturally progressing towards a maiden Premier League title, as shown in a video on Sky Sports PL’s official Twitter account on Wednesday morning.

“Everybody expects a lot from us because we’ve played some good seasons, but we’re concentrating on our own game. Every game is an important game and then we will see where we end up.
“Obviously we have a lot of confidence in ourselves, we have shown everyone that we are capable of playing good teams and winning.
“This year is going to be a special year for us.”

The 2017/18 Premier League is arguably going to be one of the most fiercely competed in the competition’s history with cases being made for six teams being able to take home the title.
Reigning champions Chelsea are expected to be up there, as well as big-spending Manchester City and Manchester United.
Liverpool and Arsenal are also thought to be in the mix with Tottenham, however Pochettino’s men will have to adapt to new surroundings for the course of the campaign after leaving their historic home at White Hart Lane at the end of last season.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs have deployed their scouts to keep close tabs on this Champions League centre-back.
