Movement soon: Major update on Rangers pursuit of Luis Palma – sources

Luis Palma will decide his next club soon as Rangers push ahead with plans to win the race for his signature, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year old Aris Saloniki star is on the radar of the Glasgow club and there will be more movement for him in the coming days as the race hots up for his signature.

Clubs around Europe are keen to sign the £4million-valued star and there is an understanding he will leave Aris this summer for a transfer to a new side.

Gers boss Michael Beale has pushed on with recruitment despite losing director of football Ross Wilson to Nottingham Forest last month.

Rangers have now all but concluded two other deals, with Chelsea defender Dujon Sterling heading to Ibrox and a deal for Norwich City midfielder Kieran Dowell also set to be confirmed after he underwent a recent medical.

Palma, who stars for Greek club Aris, has been scouted by Rangers throughout the 2022-23 campaign.

The Ibrox club are taking an aggressive approach in the market and want to get their business done early in order to focus next on closing the gap to fierce rivals Celtic next season.

The Gers are also exploring deals to replace Ryan Kent, who will leave the club this summer, with Fenerbahçe working on securing the English winger’s signature.

That is why Rangers are pushing for Palma although there will be no formal talks until Aris’s league campaign is concluded.

Palma has scored 13 goals and supplied eight assists from 36 appearances in all competitions this season.
