‘Moyes out’, ‘That is all on Moyes’ – West Ham fans furious after ‘criminal’ Lucas Paqueta latest

West Ham United fans are furious with David Moyes for selecting Lucas Paqueta in the starting line-up of their clash against Bristol City on Sunday (7 January).

The Irons were forced into a replay of their third-round FA Cup tie after the Robins came back from 1-0 down to draw 1-1 thanks to a Tommy Conway strike on the hour mark.

Jarrod Bowen opened the score after just four minutes courtesy of an assist from Paqueta, leading many Hammers fans to believe they’d romp to victory against the second-tier opposition.

However, things quickly took a turn for the worst when Paqueta was forced off the field of play through injury and replaced by forward Divin Mubama in the 14th minute at the London Stadium.

He went down out of possession and was helped off the field by West Ham medical staff as he clutched his left knee.

The Brazilian was absent for the Iron’s 0-0 draw against Brighton on Tuesday (2 January) after picking up a knee problem in their triumphant Premier League win against Arsenal just after Christmas.

However, Moyes opted to start the 26-year-old in the clash, but fans have hammered him for seemingly rushing him back just before the two-week break from league action.

Supporters have taken to social media to berate the Scotsman for his “ridiculous” decision.
