‘Moyes wants him’ – Exclusive: West Ham now want to beat Liverpool to signing of ex-Celtic star in stunning form
West Ham are interested in completing a January deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong, sources have told Football Insider.
As revealed on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton scout Bryan King explained that the 23-year-old is the ‘type of player that David Moyes wants to bring in’.
King, who has worked closely with Moyes and remains very well connected in elite football circles, explained that the former Celtic star is the perfect profile for the West Ham manager.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (10 January) that Liverpool have also set their sights on signing Frimpong this month.
It is understood that Man United, Aston Villa and Aston Villa also share an interest in Frimpong following his strong form this season.
Frimpong has made 22 appearances for Leverkusen across all competitions in 2023-24, scoring a remarkable seven times and supplying 10 assists from right-back, although he often pushes further forward into a wide midfield role.
He has played a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s remarkable run in the Bundesliga, with Xabi Alonso’s side still yet to suffer defeat after 16 league matches.
Frimpong started his career at Manchester City’s youth academy and spent nine years at the club before departing for Celtic in 2019.
During his time in Scotland, he made 51 appearances, scored three goals and assisted eight times.
Frimpong also played a role in Celtic’s treble-winning season in 2019-20 when the Glasgow giants lifted the Scottish Premiership title, the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup.

The Netherlands international made the move to Leverkusen in January 2021 where he signed a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Frimpong later extended his contract at Leverkusen, keeping him at the German club until 2028.
In other news, West Ham could now accept offers for three stars to fund January deal for 22-yr-old
