Multiple Celtic stars in talks to leave and transfers could be done on 1 January – pundit

Ange Postecoglou will already have informed the Celtic players he wants out in January their time at the club is up.

That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England attacker Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Celtic’s outgoing transfer business ahead of the January window.

As quoted by the Glasgow Times at the beginning of December, Ange Postecoglou revealed he “expected” some members of his squad to move on in the upcoming transfer window.

It comes as the Hoops continue their rebuild at pace with Postecoglou wanting reinforcements if his side are to achieve their goals this season.

They lost big-name players Ryan Christie, Kristoffer Ajer and Odsonne Edouard but summer signings Joe Hart, Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota have all hit the ground running.

And Agbonlahor has insisted the January window will also be busy and deals could already be in place to be completed at the beginning of the window.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Agents and clubs speak, they will be talking now.

“The ones that aren’t wanted by the manager will know already. They will be working on moves already.

“Hopefully, for the club and the players, they go through at the start of January.”

Before the transfer window, Postecoglou has the chance to get his hands on a first trophy as Celtic boss.

They face Hibs at Hampden later this month (19 December) in the League Cup final.

His side are currently four points behind league leaders Rangers and are on a run of four consecutive wins in the league.

In other news, Celtic are plotting to replace a 2021 signing already after a Sky update.
