Graeme Murty drops Rangers transfer hint, but it makes no sense

Rangers manager Graeme Murty hinted after Sunday’s 2-1 Scottish Premiership win over Ross County that the Gers would make more new signings before the transfer window closes on Wednesday night – but what else does the Light Blues manager need?
Talking after the win in Dingwall, as quoted by the Daily Record, Murty said that he didn’t think the club’s transfer business was over, saying “you never know” when asked if there would be more business at Ibrox before the transfer window slams shut.
The Gers have already made five new signings this month with Greg Docherty, Russell Martin, Jason Cummings, Jamie Murphy and Sean Goss all arriving at Ibrox leaving Murty with a slightly bloated squad.
Only Carlos Pena has left the club so far, with Danny Wilson expected to follow imminently, but there are no positions that are crying out for an immediate signings.
The five players who have arrived so far pretty much cover all the areas where the squad looked bare with all of them versatile enough to cover in a variety of positions if necessary.
Murty’s side also have to possibility of promoting more youngsters from the Under-20’s side Murty was in charge of until he replaced Pedro Caixinha in October with the likes of Liam Burt, Aidan Wilson, Serge Atakayi and Jamie Barjonas on the fringes of the first-team.
The Gers boss will already have a headache trying to figure out how to fit everyone – when fit – into his side  any new signings that do arrive before the window shuts shortly after full-time in Fraserburgh on Wednesday night will have to be of a really high standard to to force their way into the side.
Although, after the window Rangers have had so far it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see them pull a signing out that really gets fans excited.
