Murty slams 'erratic' Rangers players, makes bold claim about future performances

Rangers manager Graeme Murty has slammed the positioning of his players against Hamilton at the weekend, but he has boldly claimed that once his side get their balance right, they will “damage” anyone in the Scottish Premiership.
Murty’s side have looked a much more potent attacking threat in recent games although the Gers have started conceding cheap goals after a run of consecutive clean-sheets if they are to push Old Firm rivals Celtic for the title.
The Gers have scored 11 times in their last two games, conceding four, and Murty wants his side to get everything on the same page and improve their game management.
“I think we didn’t quite get the balance right between wanting to play out at the start and being penetrative and controlling the game,” Murty said, as quoted by the Evening Times.
“But in terms of balance on the pitch, I thought too many people at the start of the game were too erratic in their positioning and wanted to make good runs and break lines, but not necessarily at the right time. I think our game management needs to be better.
“But if it does come, and it will come because we will work on it extremely hard, when we do break forward and we do attack, the pace and the quality that we possess, as I have said all the way through, I think now can damage anyone in this league.
“We have to make sure we understand the right times to be expressive and open and the right time just to shut it down a little bit and be a bit more controlled and structured and ordered.”
The Gers face Hearts at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday and could find themselves only six points behind Brendan Rodgers’ side.
With Celtic facing a trip to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen on Sunday, the Gers’ clash with Hearts is a must-win if the Ibrox giants are to launch a title challenge.
Murty’s side have won six of their seven games since the turn of the year with the third Old Firm of the season rapidly approaching and Celtic struggling to put together a consistent run of wins.
