Myles Lewis-Skelly and Kalvin Phillips react to Archie Gray’s Tottenham dream

Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly and Manchester City’s Kalvin Philipps, currently on loan at Ipswich Town, have reacted to Archie Gray’s message after Tottenham won the Europa League.

Gray’s first season with Spurs has been somewhat of a rollercoaster, as the North Londoners are 17th in the Premier League but have also claimed European silverware.

The 19-year-old has made 44 outings for Tottenham across all competitions this term, and made a one-minute cameo when Ange Postecoglou’s men beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final on Wednesday, 21 May.

Gray has shown his versatility in Tottenham colours this season, playing as a full-back, centre-back, and midfielder at various points in the campaign.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, 22 May, Gray posted: “Stuff dreams are made of! What a day! What a team! What a day for the club and the fans, especially.”

Lewis-Skelly put North London rivalries to one side and liked the post, while Phillips commented: “Congrats little bro.”

Gray will hope for even more Tottenham success next term

Spurs’ Premier League position is uncomfortable, as they could finish 17th even if they beat Brighton on the final day of the season on Sunday, 25 May.

But winning the Europa League in his first season with the North Londoners has made Gray’s move to Tottenham from his boyhood club Leeds United last summer more than worthwhile.

Having predominantly operated as either a full-back or a midfielder for Leeds in the Championship last season, the England Under-21 international has been somewhat thrown in the deep end for Spurs, where he has had to play as a centre-back throughout the campaign, courtesy of previous injuries suffered by the likes of Cristian Romero.

But Gray has made an exceptional account of himself in an often tricky campaign for Postecoglou’s men, performing well in a variety of positions.

The 19-year-old will hope to help Spurs enjoy a more successful Premier League season next term, as well as enjoying Champions League football.
