£75m starter bid - Celtic fans react to reported second-placed club interest in mainstay

Celtic fans on social have dismissed a report linking star left-back Kieran Tierney with a move away from the club.

The Daily Record have reported that second-placed Premier League club Manchester United are interested in signing the 20-year-old, as manager Jose Mourinho is impressed with the player’s ability to play in a number of positions.

The report also suggests that the Hoops would be looking for at last £20million for the player should they decide to cash in on Tierney, who signed a six year contract with the Hoops earlier this season.

However, the report hasn’t impressed Hoops fans, who believe that the story involving a mainstay of the side – with 48 appearances this season – isn’t true.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to the Tierney rumours:

Tierney has been a huge success for the Hoops since becoming a regular in the team under former boss Ronny Deila in 2016.

His swashbuckling performances have won him many admirers, and he has already captained Scotland at a very young age.

It seems likely that Tierney will depart the Hoops eventually but supporters will be hoping that it won’t be for a few years yet, as the player looks to be one of the best prospects to come out of Scotland in many years.
