‘Nasty man’ – Chelsea backed to pull plug on Alejandro Garnacho deal

Chelsea could make a U-turn on their move to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.

After falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford, Garnacho appears set to join Chelsea, who are vying to win more silverware after last season’s Conference League and Club World Cup triumphs.

However, doubts have been cast over whether the 21-year-old has the right temperament to join Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.

The winger notched 11 goals and 10 assists across all competitions for Manchester United last term, including six goals in the Premier League.

Chelsea warned that Alejandro Garnacho is ‘trouble’

Tyrique George could leave Chelsea, which would open the doors for the Blues to sign fellow winger Garnacho.

Maresca has already bolstered his wide options this summer by signing Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and former Palmeiras star Estevao.

Garnacho could further strengthen Chelsea’s chances of challenging for the Premier League title, despite falling out of favour at Man United.

However, speaking about the Argentina international’s potential move to Stamford Bridge while playing ‘transfer Tinder’ on talkSPORT [27 August], Alan Brazil warned: “I’m going left (saying no). He looks a nasty man. He looks to me trouble.”

Chelsea move is what Alejandro Garnacho needs

As alluded to by Brazil, Garnacho can be a disruptive figure, which may not make him an ideal acquisition for Chelsea.

Garnacho could be an asset for Chelsea

For example, Garnacho posed in a Marcus Rashford Aston Villa shirt this summer, which did not present him as a good professional.

However, the 21-year-old is not happy at Man United, whereas a move to Chelsea should help him enjoy his football once again.

The winger’s return of 21 goal contributions in 58 games across all competitions last season shows that he could be a real asset for the West London club in the final third.

Maresca already has depth on the wing, thanks to players like Pedro Neto and Estevao, while Cole Palmer is also utilised out wide.

However, Garnacho would add even more quality to Chelsea’s ranks.

Furthermore, the youngster still boasts the potential to continue developing, while the Stamford Bridge club need strength in depth to compete in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
