Nathan Ake and Savinho react to Ederson’s Man City message after ‘horror-show’
Ederson remained in high spirits online despite his recent performance for Man City coming under heavy scrutiny.
Man City maintained their perfect start to the Club World Cup with a 5-2 win over Juventus, putting them top of their group and advancing to the round of 16.
However, Football Insider described Ederson’s display against Juventus as a “horror show” after his mistake allowed the Italian giants to equalise shortly after Jeremy Doku’s opener.
That setback didn’t faze the Cityzens, who went on to hit five, with goals from Phil Foden, Savinho, and Erling Haaland — who netted his 300th career goal.
Despite the victory, Ederson’s future at the club remains uncertain, with just one year left on his contract.
There has been growing speculation over his next move, with reports suggesting he is open to a transfer to Saudi Arabia. Some Man City fans have even called for the Ederson to be sold before the club risk losing him for free and on the basis he’s open to a move.
For now, Ederson had a response of his own, posting on social media after the win to show he remains focused despite the criticism.

Ederson stays upbeat amid Man City exit speculation
The Man City goalkeeper posted on Instagram following the victory, but kept his message simple, captioning the post with a thumbs-up and blue heart emoji.
Although not much was said, his post was still well received by teammates, with Savinho replying with a thumbs-up emoji, while Nathan Ake, Jeremy Doku and Omar Marmoush all liked the update.
Despite the positive mood on social media, Ederson’s future remains uncertain, with his current deal set to expire next summer.
Former Man City financial advisor Stefan Borson recently told Football Insider that Man City would be willing to sell Ederson for around £25 million this summer.
Ilkay Gundogan could follow Ederson out of Man City
Ederson is just one of several high-profile players who could be set to leave the Etihad this summer, following in the footsteps of Kevin De Bruyne, who has already confirmed a move to Napoli.
Another senior figure whose future remains unclear is Ilkay Gundogan.
Football Insider revealed that Galatasaray are plotting a move for Gundogan, with reports suggesting the Turkish giants are confident of reaching an agreement.
The arrival of Tijjani Reijnders has already limited the German midfielder’s minutes, and should Galatasaray formalise their interest, Gundogan could well be added to the growing list of summer exits at Man City.
