Nathan Ake, Rico Lewis and Savinho react as Ederson posts Man City update

Ederson shared a message with Manchester City fans and offered a glimpse into training as preparations ramp up for the Club World Cup amid growing speculation over his future.

Ederson has been a key part of Pep Guardiola’s side since joining from Benfica eight years ago, but doubts are starting to emerge over his long-term future at the club.

The goalkeeper has just one year remaining on his current contract, and former financial advisor Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Man City would be willing to accept offers in the region of £25 million for Ederson this summer.

He could join a number of high-profile names expected to depart, including Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva, while Kevin De Bruyne’s exit has already been confirmed.

Despite the mounting speculation, Ederson appears fully focused on the task at hand. The goalkeeper shared an update with fans, showing him back in training as City begin their preparations for the Club World Cup.

Ederson prepares for Club World Cup as Man City plan goalkeeper options

City are gearing up for the Club World Cup, which kicks off on Sunday (15 June) with the squad currently in training.

Ederson shared several photos of the players called up to the squad, giving fans an exclusive look at the club’s preparations.

The post attracted plenty of reactions, with Rico Lewis, Savinho and Nathan Ake among those showing their appreciation by liking it.

Regarding his future, Man City supporters have urged the club to sell Ederson after reports emerged that the goalkeeper is open to a move to Saudi Arabia.

With no contract extension currently on the table, the 31-year-old is understood to be considering his options. Having made 369 appearances for City, his future could well lie elsewhere.

Should Ederson leave, Guardiola’s side are expected to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper.

Football Insider revealed that Man City are prepared to sell Ederson this summer to help fund a move for Porto’s Diogo Costa.

Man City have long been interested in Costa, but reports suggest Porto will not accept less than his £64 million release clause.

While the club may attempt to negotiate the fee down, it remains to be seen whether City will pursue the signing only after Ederson’s exit is confirmed.
