Nayef Aguerd: Two formal bids arriving for West Ham star – sources
West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd will be the subject of £35m bids from Rennes and Lyon when the transfer window reopens next month, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say the Hammers are willing to let Aguerd, 28, leave as long as they can recoup the £30million fee they paid to sign him in 2022.
The centre-back joined West Ham from Rennes two years ago, with the French side now looking to bring him back to Ligue 1 as they strengthen their defence ahead of next season.
Lyon are also keen to secure his signature after a strong end to the season saw them clinch Europa League qualification, winning 14 of their last 16 league games.
Aguerd’s long-term future at the London Stadium has been subject to speculation after Football Insider revealed that, amid interest from the Saudi Pro League, he is likely to quit this summer.

Both Ligue 1 outfits are expected to make their interest in the Moroccan formal when the transfer window opens in mid-June.
Aguerd has made 58 appearances for the Hammers since arriving in 2022, and featured just 28 times this season as his time in East London has been blighted by injuries and inconsistency.
Interest from Saudi Arabian teams has lingered since last summer, and following efforts to convince him to move in January, but with European sides now joining the race, his exit is increasingly likely.
The £30million price tag paid for him two years ago will have to be matched if West Ham are to sell, with £35million then able to be reinvested in incoming deals.
Former Hammers striker Frank McAvennie told Football Insider on 23 May that a widescale refresh of the defence would be necessary, with Aguerd’s exit likely to be part of an exodus.
Football Insider revealed that Kurt Zouma has been told to find a new club in the upcoming transfer window, with Julen Lopetegui stamping his mark on the squad upon his arrival.
