Nayef Aguerd wants to leave West Ham and transfer now ‘certain’ – sources
West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd wants to leave West Ham and his exit is now “certain” in the upcoming transfer window.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Aguerd, 28, is looking for a way out of the London Stadium.
This comes shortly after Football Insider revealed that two £35million bids are expected to arrive when the transfer window opens.
Aguerd’s exit will also leave space for the Hammers to bring in new defenders this summer, with multiple transfer deals already in the works.
West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd certain to leave in transfer window
Aguerd has made 58 appearances for the Hammers since arriving in 2022, and featured just 28 times this season, while injuries and inconsistency have blighted his spell at West Ham.
The Moroccan is valued at £35million, a fee which would allow the Hammers to recoup the £30million outlay spent on his arrival just two years ago.
There is no shortage of interest in the centre-back with clubs in Saudi Arabia as well as Ligue 1 duo Rennes and Lyon weighing up potential transfer moves.
All parties are keen to get a deal over the line quickly.
The process of replacing Aguerd is already underway, with Football Insider revealing that Brazilian defender Fabricio Bruno has agreed to terms, while Max Kilman is the club’s top target.

Julen Lopetegui has been tipped to overhaul the back line, with four possible outgoings in a defensive clearout, with Aguerd now certain to leave and Kurt Zouma also likely to leave.
In other news, the Hammers are plotting a £40million transfer deal.
