Neal Maupay sends brutal Everton message after Nottingham Forest defeat

Neal Maupay has taken to social media to troll Everton with a savage message following their latest result.

The Merseyside giants lost 2-0 against Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park on Sunday (29 December), with the club being left 16th in the table.

It was the seventh defeat of the season for Sean Dyche’s men, with the club having only won three of their 18 Premier League fixtures thus far.

That’s something that Maupay decided to take a jibe at in his latest social media post, despite Everton being his parent club.

He said, “Whenever I’m having a bad day I just check the Everton score and smile.”

Maupay’s post enraged Everton supporters who claimed he would be “snapped” the next time he plays the club, and that led to another message from the striker.

Maupay then said, “See you in the Champions League next season!” which he followed up with, “*championship.”

Neal Maupay remains an Everton player

The 28-year-old’s post caught most people off guard considering that he’s technically still under contract at Goodison Park.

Maupay is currently on a season-long loan at Marseille from the Merseyside club where he’s under contract until 2026.

The striker has scored two goals and provided four assists this season for the French outfit.

Maupay had struggled during his time at Goodison Park, having only scored once in his 32 appearances for the club.

However, it remains to be seen whether he will return to Everton after his latest message infuriated supporters.
