Rangers star Jason Cummings kept his place in the starting XI for the Light Blues when they welcomed Kilmarnock to Ibrox on Saturday – and Gers fans were not impressed with the on-loan Nottingham Forest striker.

The 22-year-old was paired with the returning Alfredo Morelos in the Gers’ attack as Jimmy Nicholl took charge  of the side for the first time following Graeme Murty’s sacking.

After a poor first-half, Cummings was substituted at half-time and replaced by Ross McCrorie as the Light Blues looked to secure three points.

Gers fans were disappointed with Cummings’s performance – with one fan saying the Light Blues strike pair of Cummings and Morelos are the “slowest, laziest players ever.”

The 22-year-old joined the Light Blues from Forest in January on a season-long loan deal and the Gers have an agreement in place to make the striker’s move permanent in the summer.

Cummings has scored six times in 16 appearances for the Gers since moving back north and will be desperate to show what he is capable of in the final two games of the season.

With a trip to Cummings’ old stomping ground of Easter Road on the final day of the season, the Scotland international has the perfect opportunity to earn a return to Ibrox after the summer as well as securing the Gers’ place in the Europa League.
