Gary Neville has responded hilariously on Twitter to comments made by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds boss Klopp was unhappy with Sky Sports pundit Neville after his criticism of goalkeeper Loris Karius.

Ex-United player Neville was highly critical of Karius following his performance against Bournemouth in the 4-3 defeat on 4 December, with the goalkeeper deflecting the ball into the path of Nathan Ake to score a late winner.

Klopp claimed he did not care about the pundit’s opinion and questioned why someone of his experience is allowed to talk about players on TV, in the wake of a disappointing spell in charge of Spanish club Valencia on his CV.

Neville has hit back at Klopp by revealing that he is qualified to analyse football players despite his failure in management.

“Haha. I’m not a chef but I know a good steak,” Neville wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Liverpool goalkeeper Karius has come under criticism from several pundits including Gary and Phil Neville, with Merseyside legend Jamie Carragher also voicing his opinions.

The 23-year-old has found it difficult since his summer move to Anfield and was once again criticised for his role in Sunday’s 2-2 home draw against West Ham.

He was unable to prevent a free-kick from Dimitri Payet and defender Joel Matip allowed Michail Antonio to prevail in a one-one-on scenario.

Liverpool face Middlesbrough on Wednesday in the Premier League and Karius will be hoping to silence his critics in the match.

The Reds do have Belgian international Simon Mignolet currently waiting on the bench and the goalkeeper will be pushing Karius for the number one position.

In other Liverpool news, this is why the club must agree a new deal with their midfielder.
