Celtic could pocket reported £6m+ in Jan: Three positions Rodgers must bolster with cash
COMMENT
Celtic could pocket a big sum of money from the transfer if Southampton offload Virgil van Dijk with a number of Premier League clubs reportedly scurrying to sign the former Hoops star.
The Daily Record is reporting that the Bhoys could net a tidy sum over over £6million should the Netherlands international be sold on in January.
The more clubs that are interested in van Dijk, the more money the Hoops will get as it is understood that they inserted a sell-on clause of between 10 and 15 per cent in the transfer of the player to Southampton.
As the player is valued at £70 million, the Hoops could even receive a windfall of up to £7million to their transfer coffers if any club matches Southampton’s asking price.
As seen in the 4-0 loss to Hearts, Celtic have issues in certain areas of their team, and if the money is spent wisely than the Hoops could rectify the problems.
Here Football Insider takes a look at three positions Brendan Rodgers must look to improve in the January transfer window, away from his obvious centre-back concern.
