'I love you', 'Club weren't happy' - Newcastle fans rave over three word post from mainstay

Newcastle United fans have been left raving over a three word Twitter post from senior mainstay Paul Dummett following the club’s victory over Leicester City on Saturday.

The Magpies took a huge step towards their Premier League survival with three points over the Foxes, Jonjo Shelvey and Ayoze Perez scoring the crucial goals on the way to a 2-1 win at the King Power Stadium.

However, while the Spaniard’s sublime chipped strike was a major highlight for the Newcastle fans to savour, it was a moment in the second half which caught the attentions of many, with the Magpies’ stars putting in a series of crunching tackles to keep Leicester at bay.

After the official Newcastle Twitter account posted a video of the period of play, stating that commentator John Anderson liked the tackles, Welsh defender Dummett, who was involved in a battle with Riyadh Mahrez, responded with a three word response, stating: “So did I.”

His short response had fans responding in their numbers on Twitter, with many poking fun at Mahrez for his inability to get one over Dummett, while others were delighted with the sort of passion showed by the squad.
