'Pathetic', 'Deal dead' - Newcastle fans react to centre-forward announcement after bid reported
Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to react to the confirmation that Nicolai Jorgensen will start for Feyenoord in their Eredivisie clash with ADO Den Haag on Sunday.
The Dutch title-holders announced on their official Twitter account that centre-forward Jorgensen, 27, had been named to start up front despite widespread reports that he has been the subject of bids from St. James’ Park.

Keith Downie, the Sky Sports north-east correspondent, claimed on his personal Twitter account earlier this week that the Magpies had made a second offer worth £15million for the Denmark international.
It was understood that Feyenoord rejected it as they looked for an extra £5million before considering the sale of their prolific forward.
Understand the second Newcastle bid for Nicolai Jorgensen knocked back by Feyenoord was for £15m. The Dutch club holding out for at least £5m more.

However after Sunday’s development that sees Jorgensen start for the reigning Dutch Eredivisie champions, Newcastle fans believe that there is no chance they will be able to sign him before the January transfer window slams shut on Wednesday night.
One gutted Magpies fan said that the deal is now “dead”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Because he's not coming and we aren't signing a new striker..

Jorgensen has been a mainstay for Feyenoord since he moved to Holland from Danish giants Copenhagen in 2016.
He has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring nine goals in the process, including two in the Champions League which came against Napoli and Shakhtar Donetsk.
In other Newcastle United news, the Magpies are in the hunt to sign this £6million-rated forward who has been tipped for stardom by Frank Lampard.
