Ayoze Perez scored a brace to help Newcastle comfortably beat Ipswich 3-0 on Saturday afternoon- and fans on Twitter were pleased with his performance in the game.
Striker Perez scored the quickest goal of the Championship season, after 60 seconds, as Rafa Benitez’ side topped the Championship table by a margin of three points at St James’ Park.
The Spaniard scored his goals in either half, alongside a curling effort from Matt Ritchie, which was assisted by Perez.
Supporters were pleased with the Toon Army’s performance and in particular Perez for his man-of-the-match display.
Some fans did point out that the 23-year-old must now perform consistently in the league, as the Magpies are firm favourites for promotion.

Prior to the Ipswich game, Perez had only netted on one occasion this term from his nine Championship fixtures.
The former Spain under-21 international has now taken his season tally to three, but is yet to match his prolific teammate Dwight Gayle, who has scored 11 in 11.
Benitez’ side take on Preston in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, before travelling to Deepdale for a league fixture next Saturday, with the north east club on 31 points from 14 games.
In other Newcastle team news, manager Rafa Benitez has declared his delight at this attacking ace, but believes he can improve further.
