'Don't hold your breath', 'Sad to see' - Newcastle fans react to outcast's imminent exit claim
Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to react to news that outcast midfielder Henri Saivet looks set to secure his exit away from the club.
French publication L’Equipe have claimed that the Magpies are in advanced discussions with Ligue 1 side Montpellier over what will be an initial loan deal which includes a £5million purchase clause, and that an agreement could be made in the coming hours on Wednesday.
The Chronicle’s journalist Mark Douglas has suggested on his personal Twitter account that the claim appears to have legs and that it could be a big boost for Newcastle, as they look to offload some of their current players to make space and funds for incoming signings.
Sounds as if Henri Saivet to Montpellier is a goer. Outgoing at #nufc should clear the way for incomings (finally)….

However fans were not as confident over the 27-year-old’s impending exit, with the Toon Army suggesting on Twitter that his exit does not guarantee new signings, and that the club should not be offloading him in the first place.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:
Didn’t we say the same when De Jong, Krul & Hanley all went at end of August though, Mark?….I’ll not hold my breathe.

Goodbye @Saivet_Henri. Unlucky not to get a proper chance. Best of luck for the rest of your career.

I quite like Saivet and actually sad to see him go

My guess would be Saivet, Aarons, colback & gamez to leave. Nowhere near squad at minute. Would make sense on wages too.

How Mark, we’re skint?

Colback surely has to leave this month, he can't sit on his big fat contract forever

Saivet has managed to make just four appearances for the club this season, with his single league outing also marking his first ever goal for the club, having hit a sweetly struck free kick on the way to victory over West Ham earlier in the campaign.
In other Newcastle United news, the club have been handed a boost after suffering the ultimate hammer blow in takeover talks.
