Newcastle fans react to Saivet's first half display v West Ham
Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to react to the first half performance of Hanri Saivet during their clash with West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.
The midfielder was making his first league appearance of the season for the north east side, and just his second outing across all competitions, with manager Rafael Benitez forced into changes as a result of injury and suspension.
He made a horror start, gifting possession to West Ham winger Marko Arnautovic who procedded to bear down on the Magpies’ goal and open the scoring after just six minutes.
However, he made amends for his mistake just four minutes later, curling a free kick over the Hammers’ wall and past Adrian to level the scores for Benitez and his men, with what was his first ever goal for the Magpies.
With such a zero to hero first half, fans were left leaving their reactions on Twitter, many impressed with what they saw from the 27-year-old.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:
In that case if saivet scores again then the victory is down to mike Ashley as without that rafa wouldn't have picked him.

Since joining the club from Bordeaux back in January 2016, Saivet has managed to make just six appearances for the club, and had made just three unused appearances on the substitutes’ bench prior to starting against the Hammers on Saturday.
In other Newcastle United news, the club are expected to make an official move for a 13-goal hot shot.
