Newcastle fans react on Twitter to Joselu's display v Brighton
By Harvey Byrne
Summer forward signing Joselu completed 71 minutes of Sunday afternoon’s 1-0 defeat against against Brighton at the AMEX Stadium – and Magpies fans on Twitter were very disappointed.
The 27-year-old former Real Madrid man made the move to the north east giants in the summer from Premier League rivals Stoke in a £5million deal.
However, he was unable to get on the score sheet for Rafa Benitez’ side as a second half strike from Brighton’s Tomer Hemed was enough to separate the two teams on Sunday.
Joselu himself played just over an hour of the clash on the south coast before being brought off for last season’s top scorer Dwight Gayle and Newcastle fans on social media have expressed their dismay over the performance of the Germany-born striker.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Confession time. Not only did I bet on Joselu to score, I put him in my FFT. I take full responsibility for his poor game. #NUFC sorry

Everything we thought of Joselu when he signed is being proved right.

Sunday’s matched marked Joselu’s sixth for the club since his move, which has seen him return just the one goal.
He will be hoping to find a more consistent run of form in front of goal soon with both Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic keen to take an opportunity and show Benitez that they have what it takes to start each week in the Premier League.
In other Newcastle United news, centre-back Jamaal Lascelles has admitted he had a big argument with his Magpies teammates.
