Newcastle fans say the same thing about club accepting Harvey Barnes offer

Newcastle United have prioritised signing a right winger in the summer transfer market, but that doesn’t mean players already at St James’s Park cannot be sold.

Eddie Howe is desperate to have someone provide competition to Jacob Murphy, adding real depth to the squad.

The Magpies had a quiet January transfer window in terms of incomings, and that was done on purpose to help Newcastle with profit and sustainability rules.

However, further outgoings could end up being necessary as part of that process in order to balance the books and provide further financial support for new signings.

One player who could fall into that category is Harvey Barnes, as Football Insider has previously revealed that Newcastle might be forced into selling the 27-year-old.

He is someone who Howe doesn’t actively want to sell at the moment, but it might be done in order for them to recruit elsewhere.

Harvey Barnes is working to return from injury

The former Leicester player has been dealing with injury troubles as of late which have restricted his game time at St James’s Park.

Barnes did make his return from a thigh injury during Newcastle’s dramatic 4-3 win against Nottingham Forest, and he is now available for selection again.

Unsure what opinions this will divide, but I do think #NUFC should cash in on Harvey Barnes in the summer window. Always going to be number two behind Gordon and simply just isn’t good enough when he puts the shirt on.

He's as near as you can get to a waste of a clean shirt. Shame as he did ok in the early part of the season but when he comes on he plays like someone who knows he's second choice.

I don’t agree with him not being good enough, he’s never really been given regular games and at the start of the season he was arguably our most in form player even though he didn’t always start. I agree we should be looking to move him on though. Always seemed a strange signing

The left winger might be putting in the hard work to get back fit to aid Newcastle’s fight for European football, but fans are ready to see him leave.

Supporters believe they should try and “shop him off” to another club, regardless of if there is a lack depth out wide currently.
