Newcastle fans thrilled to accept ‘£30m’ Yankuba Minteh bid from Everton

Newcastle United supporters on social media have backed the club’s decision to sell rising star Yankuba Minteh to Everton or another club this week.

Football Insider revealed on 23 June that Newcastle are looking to capitalise on interest in Minteh before the end of this month, when clubs’ accounts must fall in line with PSR restrictions.

The 19-year-old forward was signed by Eddie Howe last summer and immediately shipped out on loan to Feyenoord, scoring 10 goals in 27 Eredivisie appearances under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot.

Whilst Slot was interested in bringing Minteh to Anfield, Newcastle rebuffed the Reds’ interest as revealed by Football Insider [22 June] and the club are holding out for a hefty fee to assist with PSR objectives.

It has also emerged that the young Gambian international – under contract until 2028 – could also be used in a “swap” deal but in a separate transaction with Everton as the Tynesiders work on a deal to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Newcastle United fans back Minteh sale

Despite reservations from some quarters at St. James’ Park, a host of Newcastle United fans are behind the intention to sell Minteh and keep established key players in Howe’s squad.
