‘Newcastle fans will love Jack Grealish latest – ‘my phone’s been ringing…’
Jack Grealish has been frozen out at Man City but could reportedly be offered a lifeline at Newcastle United this summer.
The Magpies have been widely linked with a move for the left-sided winger, who will have two years left to run on his contract next month.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (13 May) that City star Grealish, 29, will seek assurances from manager Pep Guardiola this summer.
He has started just seven Premier League games this term and was an unused substitute in the FA Cup final defeat against Crystal Palace.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted Newcastle could afford Grealish’s hefty wages.
‘Newcastle will look at Grealish’, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the former Aston Villa star would be “loved” at Newcastle.
Grealish cost £100million when he left Villa Park for Man City but has struggled to live up to that price tag despite winning three Premier League titles at the Etihad Stadium.
Wyness insisted he expects Newcastle to explore a deal for the England international.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Newcastle could probably afford Grealish’s wages.
“When I was looking at it, they’ve got Anthony Gordon there – they’ve got Harvey Barnes – would Grealish fit in?
“I know the Newcastle fans would love him, and he’s their kind of player. Jack would probably be getting in more trouble in Newcastle because it’s a fabulous place to get in trouble.
“I believe Newcastle will look at him this summer.
“It’s going to be a fabulous transfer window. My phone’s been ringing a lot with different bits of information already, but it’s early. We’ll have to just see what really comes through in terms of this deal.
“With the window starting early this year, all the dominoes are ready to fall across the Premier League.”

Newcastle owners make Isak decision
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (19 May) that the Newcastle ownership and transfer team will price rivals out of a move for Alexander Isak.
That is despite Eddie Howe’s concerning comments, with the Magpies boss admitting he could not guarantee the striker would remain at the club.
“I’d be foolish to sit here and do anything like that,” he said. “We want to keep our strongest players. I’ve said that ever since I’ve been here and sat in this seat.”
Arsenal and Liverpool had been eyeing a move for the Sweden international, but sources say Newcastle’s leadership will demand a British-record fee to consider releasing him.
