Newcastle handed Adrien Rabiot boost after talks latest – sources

Adrien Rabiot wants to remain in Europe amid interest from Premier League duo Man United and Newcastle United, sources have told Football Insider.

Rabiot, who is a free agent after leaving Juventus in June, is also a target for clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (9 September) that Man United are currently finding a free transfer swoop for the midfielder too expensive due to his wage demands.

Sources say the France star is also proving too costly for Newcastle, who will need him to reduce his demands to sanction a deal.

His preference to remain in Europe and play at the highest level will come as a boost to the Premier League duo.

Both clubs are in search of midfield reinforcements as they target Champions League qualification this season.

Rabiot’s personal ambitions will be important in negotiations after the midfielder was excluded from the most recent France squad.

He played regularly at Euro 2024 but has been axed due to his free agent status.

The midfielder played 35 times across all competitions for Juventus last term, notching five goals and three assists.
