Newcastle's luck is 'horrendous' after Fraser images emerge - pundit

Ryan Fraser may be out of action for some time – and Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce will not be able to believe his “horrendous” luck.

So says ex-Premier League hitman Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 27-year-old Scotland wide man.

The winger was pictured by talkSPORT on 6 September in a protective boot and crutches after he sustained an injury in training on international duty.

Fraser missed eight matches for Newcastle last season across two separate spells on the sidelines.

His Newcastle teammate Callum Wilson is also currently injured and expected to be out for several weeks.

And manager Bruce will be stunned by his poor fortune after the pictures of Fraser emerged, predicts Campbell.

“It’s not great,” he told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs.

“A lot of the time you wear a boot and crutches are a precaution. But it doesn’t look great for the weekend until we really find out what’s happened.

“I’m sure he’ll have had it scanned to see the extent of the damage, but it didn’t look good.

“Steve Bruce must be thinking he’s walked under a ladder or run over a black cat or something. He has got no luck at the moment. It’s horrendous.”

Fraser played the full 90 minutes as Scotland beat Moldova 1-0 on 1 September.

He has been introduced as a late substitute in all three of the Magpies’ Premier League matches this season so far.
