‘Newcastle make direct contact over deal to sign Everton flop’
Moise Kean flopped at Everton but could now make a return to the Premier League in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Italy international, still just 25, has been in red-hot form for Fiorentina since joining the Serie A side from Juventus last summer (2024).
He has hit 22 goals in 36 games across all competitions this term – earning a return to the Italy senior side as their first-choice striker.
That is a big contrast to his time in England – with Kean managing just four strikes in 39 games during his one-year spell with Everton.
Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham in race to sign Kean
Reports in Italy (as per Calciomercato, 7 April) have now claimed Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham are all keen to bring Kean back to England this summer.
The report insists the Magpies have made “direct contact with the player’s agent” in a bid to get ahead of the competition for his signature.
Kean has a release clause in his Fiorentina contract worth almost £45million – and will be available in early July following the opening of the transfer window.

His deal in Florence runs until June 2029 having only arrived at the club from giants Juventus last summer (2024).
The 25-year-old has already racked up more than 250 career games and has won titles in France and Italy.
Newcastle are expected to be in the market for a striker in the off-season amid question marks over the future of Alexander Isak and with Callum Wilson’s St James’ Park contract set to expire.

Newcastle could demand ‘£150m’ Isak fee
Football Insider exclusively revealed in February that Arne Slot views Isak as the “perfect” Liverpool signing – and he is their top target ahead of the transfer window.
However, Newcastle could demand £150million for the striker – who has his 20 Premier League goals this term.
Isak is under contract at St James’ Park until June 2028 with the Magpies working hard to convince him to extend his deal.
