Newcastle United have offered a swap deal for West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart, according to a report.
Times reporter Gary Jacob claimed on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that the Magpies have made an attempt to snap up Hart, 30, while he is currently on loan at the London Stadium from Manchester City.
It is understood that the Hammers have emphatically rejected the notion of losing the England international, even though he has not featured in a Premier League fixture since November and the Tyneside club were willing to offer up one of their own goalkeepers.
West Ham United say no to Newcastle's attempts to swap goalkeepers for Joe Hart

Hart’s career is nosediving out of control in the past year-and-a-half.
Ever since that embarrassing mistake against Iceland in Euro 2016, the goalkeeper has been on a slippy slope after being outcasted by Pep Guardiola and now David Moyes.
Rafa Benitez has been widely reported to be in the hunt for a new shot-stopper ever since Newcastle’s promotion to the Premier League last season.
Hart was linked with St James’ Park in the summer before he opted to move to West Ham, but he has made just 18 appearances while on loan in East London, where he earns £120,000-a-week.
Football Insider verdict
Hart needs to do something to stop his career from spiralling out of control. Manchester City don’t want him, West Ham don’t want to play him and it’s very likely he will not be England’s No 1 at the World Cup in Russia this summer. It has been a whirlwind 18 months for the goalkeeper, whose form has took a brutal turn for the worst. West Ham should not care though, and neither should they, because letting Hart go would probably strengthen a Premier League rival who are in need of someone new between the sticks. The Hammers know that the safe bet is to keep him in reserve in case of injury and to stop him going elsewhere.
