Newcastle player ratings v Arsenal: Magpies mainstay brilliant with 9/10 display
Goalkeeper and defenders
Martin Dubravka – 7: A quiet first half saw him pull off a series of routine stops, and was rarely tested by the Arsenal attack. Could do little for the Gunners’ opener.
DeAndre Yedlin – 7: The pacey American did not have enough in the legs to deal with Aubemeyang’s own electric speed, and was somewhat at fault for the first goal. Showed his own attacking threat, and delivered a wicked ball for Perez’s equaliser.
Jamaal Lascelles – 7: Newcastle’s captain was commanding when facing away from goal, but his weakness against pace was evident when running towards his own net.
Florian Lejeune- 7: Like Lascelles, the pace of Arsenal’s attack caught him out on numerous occasions and the Frenchman was forced to concede a number of fouls in and around the final third.
Paul Dummett – 7: Tested time and again by the likes of Lacazette and Iwobi, the full back showed good awareness and strength to read the play and cut out the attacks, limiting the threat posed down Arsenal’s right flank.
