Newcastle poised to announce Saudi deals in ‘big news for fans’ – top source

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Newcastle could announce multiple Saudi sponsorship deals early in 2025.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted there will be “big news for fans in the new year”.

Wyness has previously claimed (22 December) Newcastle could make an extra £100million from commercial deals following the changes to the associated party transaction (APT) rules.

Newcastle’s Saudi ownership are also poised to make public their plans to redevelop or rebuild the club’s stadium as part of a push to bring in more revneue.

The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) have also been linked with investment in Newcastle Airport, which could make up the next part of their plan for the region.

‘Big money to be made’ for Newcastle, says Wyness

Wyness insisted he would be “amazed” if the Magpies aren’t working on securing more sponsorship deals in the Middle East.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “There is big money to be made in Saudi and with other sponsorships across the globe.

“The Saudis are rumoured to be buying Newcastle Airport, so you’d expect something with Riyadh Air to be coming there.

“They’ll be working on these things right now, I’d be amazed if they aren’t.

“I do think there will be some big news about the new stadium and some other news around that time about a package of different deals.
