Newcastle tipped to seal ‘wow-factor’ Martial signing after talks held – pundit
Kevin Campbell has urged Newcastle United to follow up their interest in Anthony Martial with a concrete offer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the 26-year-old would be “a top-quality” signing for Eddie Howe’s side.
Martial has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

Martial’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, told Sky Sports (14 December) that his client wants to leave the club next month.
According to the Daily Mail (22 December), the French striker has since held talks with United interim manager Ralf Rangnick regarding his future.
The Sun reported last Saturday (18 December) that Newcastle want to make Martial their first big-name signing of January.
When asked by Football Insider if Martial would be a welcome addition at St. James’ Park, Campbell said: “Martial would give Newcastle another threat and another top-quality threat at that.
“They need to tighten that defence up. They have got to be a threat at the top end of the pitch though.
“Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson provide that but if you throw Martial into the mix, wow, all of a sudden there is threats all across the front.
“Defenders cannot double up on anyone if they have three threats. He’d give more time and space to players like Saint-Maximin.
“I think Martial would be great business.”

Martial has made 10 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils this season.
His current contract runs until the summer of 2024.
