Newcastle United about to pay ‘over the odds’ to seal Youssoufa Moukoko deal – pundit
Newcastle United may have to “bite the bullet” and pay over the odds to sign Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the mgpies’ January plans.
This site revealed on 21 October that Liverpool and Man City are among a number of top European clubs who have set their sights on Moukoko.

Football Insider updated on 2 November to reveal that the teenager had agreed to join England-based agency Unique Sports Management when he turned 18 on 20 November.
On 10 January, The Evening Standard reported Newcastle have made a “substantial verbal approach” for the striker and are prepared to pay him £150,000-a-week.
McManus insists Newcastle won’t get the teenager on the cheap.
“He’s clearly a talented player and he fits the profile Newcastle are looking for,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“That’s a lot of money for a player his age though. He’s already a first-team player with massive potential. To sign those top players you need to pay over the odds.
“Newcastle may be forced to do that. That’s the kind of signing you make when you get into Europe. Newcastle already have Wilson, Isak and Wood.
“I doubt Wood will be there much longer so maybe you bring in the young lad Moukoko and he takes a role in the cups next season.
“I’m just sure Newcastle won’t pay him that much money.”

Moukoko has made 14 Bundesliga appearances this season with eight of those being starts.
He has scored six goals.
