Dr Dan: Newcastle supremo Staveley ‘not happy’ after Premier League meeting
Newcastle United chief Amanda Staveley was “not happy” with the lack of information given to her ahead of a recent Premier League vote.
So says finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the top-flight’s recent vote on a proposed owners’ charter.
The idea of a bill committing Premier League clubs’ owners to a set of non-negotiable rules was first floated after April’s Super League fiasco.

The Daily Mail reported last Thursday (16 December) that Staveley had abstained from the vote on the charter’s implementation.
The outcome of the ballot has not yet been announced, though so-called the so-called ‘big six’ sides are understood to be dragging their feet.
Plumley offered his hypothesis for why Staveley chose not to take part in the vote.
“She’s not happy with the detail that has been sent their way,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“That’s one factor. It simply is not as in-depth as it should be.
“Another is that she is very new to the club. It’s a fresh takeover and if they’re doing their due diligence properly, that would stack up.
“The other factor is that Newcastle feel a little bit targeted. There isn’t much trust in the Premier League given whats happened in the last 18 months.
“When you throw all of those things into the mix, it’s no surprise to see that she has abstained for the moment.”

Staveley was the public face of Newcastle’s takeover by the Saudi sovereign wealth fund in October.
She has now been named as one of the club’s top directors alongside Yasir Al-Rumayyan.
