Newcastle United could now accept £25m Yankuba Minteh bid – sources
Newcastle United could accept a £25million bid for Yankuba Minteh following his impressive season on loan at Feyenoord, sources have told Football Insider.
Top clubs in Italy and Germany have registered an interest in signing the Gambia international once the transfer window reopens.
Newcastle are likely to cash in on the 19-year-old this summer due to financial constraints, and to keep hold of their more established first-team stars.
Minteh, who joined the north-east giants last summer from Danish side Odese, scored 10 goals and laid on six assists in 27 Eredivisie appearances for Feyenoord last season.
The winger is under contract until 2028 after penning a five-year deal on his arrival at St James’ Park last year.
Newcastle could sell Yankuba Minteh after Feyenoord loan
Newcastle moved to sign Minteh for £6million after he recorded four goals and six assists in his first season with Odense.
The winger made a strong impression on loan at Feyenoord last season as he helped them secure a second-place finish in the Eredivisie and lift the Dutch Cup under new Liverpool boss Arne Slot.
Minteh was in red-hot form towards the back end of the campaign, having scored seven goals and laid on three assists in the final 11 leagues games.
The Gambian’s time in Rotterdam has led several top clubs to monitor his situation ahead of his return to Newcastle, with the Tynesiders likely to sell him this summer.
Reports have suggested Slot is keen on taking his former loan star to Liverpool following their time together in the Netherlands.

Eddie Howe’s side are believed to be toeing the financial fair play (FFP) line again, but they are keen to ensure star players such as Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes remain at St James’ Park this summer.
Football Insider revealed Newcastle chiefs are “anxious” about the prospect of Guimaraes leaving before his £100million release clause expires on 30 June, while they are set to hold talks with Isak over signing a new contract.
In other news, Newcastle have agreed defender signing – it’s a “done deal”.
