Newcastle United could spring ‘surprise’ amid ‘£40m’ Joelinton claim – Campbell
Kevin Campbell has claimed Newcastle United could be the “surprise” package this season on the back of the first round of fixtures.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said Joelinton is looking like “a £40million midfielder” at St. James’ Park.
Joelinton, 25, starred for the Magpies on Saturday in a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Campbell heaped praise on the club-record signing who he claims is proving to be “a really good all-round player.”
“He looks like a £40million midfielder now,” he told Football Insider. “They can rely on him.
“Bruno Guimaraes is a good box to box midfielder. He is excellent on the ball. Joelinton is getting better alongside him.
“He has been converted from being a striker. All of his physical attributes, his strength and his size, he is utilising as a midfielder. You know what, he has quick feet as well.

“He stuck the ball in for [Callum] Wilson’s goal. He is proving to be a really good all-round player. He is so hard to play against because of his size and ability to get around the pitch.
“Newcastle might be the surprise package this season. I think they might surprise a few people.”
