Newcastle United fans could trigger major payout as clause revealed – sources
Newcastle United will earn a bonus payout from Adidas if they hit a target amount of shirt sales this season, sources have told Football Insider.
The Tyneside club confirmed earlier this season that they have struck a multi-year kit manufacturer agreement with the German sportswear company starting in the 2024-25 campaign.
Newcastle were previously partnered with Castore in a deal that earned the club around £5million per season.
It is understood that the new Adidas deal will generate a minimum of £30million a season with additional bonuses and clauses that can add to the value.
Sources have told Football Insider that one clause attached to the deal will earn Newcastle a payment of “single-figure millions” if they reach a target number of shirt sales this season.
Newcastle United could bank Adidas payout from shirt sales
According to figures collected by data collection company Sponsorlytix, Newcastle ranked seventh out of all Premier League clubs in terms of shirt sales with 490,000 units sold across 2022-23.
As revealed by Football Insider, Newcastle are set to launch their new Adidas kit on June 7 after the key date was leaked during an ongoing court process between the club and former owner Mike Ashley.

Eddie Howe’s side secured a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League table this season but their participation in the Europa Conference League will depend on this weekend’s FA Cup final between Manchester United and Manchester City.
If Man United come out on top at Wembley, then Newcastle will miss out on European football entirely next season.
